The Director of Program Management plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating various programs within the Global Operations organization. This position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and project management skills to ensure the successful execution of programs in alignment with organizational objectives. The Director of Program Management will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives forward, monitor progress, and implement best practices for program management.

In this role, the Director of Program Management for Global Operations oversees the Program Management Office (PMO) for Transformation (footprint realignment, product transfers, etc), Governance (policies and procedures under which all company PMO’s operate under), Industrialization (New Production Introduction to Itron factories and EMS’s) and Supply Chain Resiliency.

Key responsibilities

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for program management aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  2. Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to program managers and cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution of programs.
  3. Program Oversight: Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of multiple programs simultaneously, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
  4. Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively across programs to optimize productivity and achieve desired outcomes.
  5. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to program objectives.
  6. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open communication channels with stakeholders, providing regular updates on program progress, milestones, and challenges.
  7. Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to ensure deliverables meet or exceed expectations and adhere to relevant standards.
  8. Performance Evaluation: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program success and performance, conducting regular evaluations and making adjustments as necessary.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the program management function, implementing best practices and lessons learned from past experiences.
  10. Budget Management: Develop and manage program budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring fiscal responsibility throughout the program lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in program management, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams towards achieving common goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, with a focus on delivering results.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
