Required Skills:
- 12+ years of experience developing businesses, building business cases, interacting with customers, doing product management, and/or developing strategic plans
- Has the combination of technical, business and market knowledge all wrapped into one: Commercial and Utility Industry Leadership experience, business development, deep understanding of utilities, start-up experience and building an eco-system, desired experience in M&A and structured finance.
- Experience in consultative selling, market / business development , understanding of utility challenges and market opportunities, utility business case modeling.
- Top tier MBA (or equivalent education/experience) and undergraduate degree required and/or top tier management consulting company
- Knowledge of utility/city business model, smart grid & IoT trends, and ability to learn technology quickly
- Demonstrate experience in Incubation of new business including prioritizing of opportunities, independent assessment of go-to-market challenges and sales models, and considering change and new approaches, business models, skills and processes and systems.
- Business cases with complex, innovative commercial models with diverse buying centers understanding multiple models project finance to licensing.
- Track record in development/assessment of new commercial models – value sharing, risk management, complex contract structures, incl. judgment for business and technology risk management.
- Demonstrated results in resolving commercial conflict and driving contract negotiation (Independently identifies and initiates resolution of issues where analysis requires an evaluation of intangibles).
- Strong analytic background, able to think deeply about business, regulatory, and technical issues and their interactions – systems thinking.
- Strong and flexible communication skills, able to communicate with both a technical and executive audience interchangeably
