Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in Research and development or equivalent in leading product and technology companies.
- Proven, tangible results in recruiting and building strong R&D competencies
- Strong product instinct and ability to identify cost reduction opportunities and maximize the reuse of existing products and platform blocks, as well as ability to partner with Itron product marketing and management functions to build world-class product portfolio
- Ability to grasp and manage a variety of engineering disciplines (mechanical, fluidics, sensing, electrical, embedded etc.)
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
- Strong oral and written communicator, great public speaker
- Results-driven, detail-oriented, organized self-starter
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Creative and critical thinker
- Can recognize his and collaborate with key experts and provide direction to his team
- Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience. Graduate degree preferred.
Location: Austin, TX; Raleigh, NC or West Union, SC.
Travel: 50% on average in the US and internationally (Europe predominantly)
Physical Demands: This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements or unusual work environment.
