Facilities Technician II

Experience: This position requires a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience in the areas of facilities, plant and equipment maintenance. Experience with Commercial HVAC and industrial scale electrical distribution preferred. Basic knowledge of one and three-phase electrical under 600 volts.

Education: Associate degree from a technical school in a related field or equivalent experience. Further education in mechanical, electrical, industrial systems, and grounds keeping is a plus. 

Certification(s):

• MN Boiler’s License, special engineer or higher preferred,

• HVAC certification preferred,

• Must maintain a valid Class D MN driver’s license

Travel: 1 - 10%

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel small and medium sized components. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift weight or exert force up to 50 pounds. The employee in this position works in an environment where they may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, there is a risk of electrical shock, and there is vibration. The employee may be required to work with toxic or caustic chemicals, may be subject to higher noise levels, or work near moving mechanical parts. This position requires the employee to be able to move furniture within the facility with the assistance of two- or four-wheel dollies. The employee must have the ability to move ladders and powerlifts around the facility and be able to climb ladders. The ability to work in both hot and cold environments will also be necessary.
