Itron is the industry-leading provider of electric and gas forecasting consulting services, training, and software. Our clients include gas and electric utilities, Independent System Operators, transmission companies, and retail energy providers. We provide software and forecasting support to companies in North America, Europe, Australia, and South Asia. Our forecast work includes everything from 5-minute real time forecast systems for electric grid operation to forecasts that extend as far as 30-year out to support long-term electric load capacity planning. Working with a team of energy forecasting experts, you will help us provide data analysis, predictive analytics/statistical modelling, training, and presentations to support a global client base.
As part of the forecast team, you will help support our real-time grid-operation forecasting applications and are other forecasting products. You will also help develop long-term sales, revenue, and demand forecasts to support our clients' financial and resource planning requirements. This work will involve monitoring and improving statistical model results, monitoring and cleaning historical data, and responding to support requests from customers. In addition, you will be developing process documentation for FaaS activities, such as setting up a new customer. Finally, you will have the opportunity to assist senior staff with project work and prototyping of new forecasting methods.
Duties & Responsibilities
As a Forecast Specialist you will assist senior staff to:
- Configure, Deploy and Monitor Itron’s Forecasting as a Service offering.
- Respond to customer software and modeling issues.
- Develop data inputs to support forecast models.
- Estimate forecast models using Itron’s forecast modeling software.
- Prototype new forecasting methods using python or other tools.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), including professional presentation creation and delivery.
- Experience completing data analysis
- Experience using Excel, Matlab, R/Python, or other statistical modelling and data manipulation tools and related workplace computer tools.
- Self-starter and willing to work in person and remotely with a small team of dedicated professionals.
- Capable of working independently.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics or related field, or equivalent job experience.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Degree in economics or related field, or equivalent job experience. Candidate having successfully completed courses in econometrics, statistics, calculus, and economic theory.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.
Liberty Lake, WA: The base salary is $75,000.00 - $148,000.00
