Itron is transitioning our quality processes to a standardized global Quality Management System and is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to develop, improve and support the deployment of standardized quality practices, methodologies and processes across the organization.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive global Quality reporting, KPI and dashboard definition and reporting
  • Drive creation of Management Review Presentation with Global QMS Audit Manager
  • Complete data interpretation for All Quality System Data, Drive global data mining.
  • Define and drive improvement plans through the organization
  • Drive Problem solving methodologies and preventive actions in the organization, KPI performance, training, coaching and process compliance.
  • Develop and assist in the development of Global QMS processes, Own and drive procedure and methodology definition, ensure deployment and adherence.
  • Ensure Adequacy of Change Control Processes
  • Provide Quality engineering support to the organization ensuring consistent application of quality techniques such as
    • Capability, tolerancing, and materials related issues.
    • Process stability and capability studies
    • Advanced Product Quality Planning activities
    • Control Plans and FMEA's
    • Statistical techniques.
    • Measurement System Analysis tools
  • Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality improvement efforts

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience
  • Experience in defining and deploying Global Quality and Manufacturing Processes
  • Experience managing a certified quality management system
  • Experienced in various quality techniques such as problem resolution methodologies, Statistical techniques , Measurement System Analysis tools, Control Plans and FMEA's, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), PPAP, gage R&R, Risk Management
  • Internal Quality Auditor Project management experience
  • Document and Change Control Processes

 

 Education: Bachelor’s degree

 

 

Certification(s):

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline  
  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in an engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Formal training and previous experience as an Internal Auditor for ISO 9001 system
  • Certified Quality Engineer desired

Location: This is a hybrid role with occasional on-site work at one of the following sites:

  • Liberty Lake, WA
  • Oconee, SC
  • Raleigh, NC 
  • Austin, Texas

Travel: up to 15%

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience. Liberty Lake, WA: The annual base salary ranges from $96,000 - $184,000. This position also includes a competitive benefit package including; financial, social, health and wellbeing programs, paid vacation, 401k matching, employee stock purchase program, hybrid work schedule, and more!
