Quality Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:- 

1) Own and Promote Design Excellence, Quality Culture and Tools

• Enforces software quality standards in SDLC for agile, devops and waterfall models.

• Contribute to and manage Design, validation plans and best practices

• Capitalize knowledge through distribution of Lessons Learned Cards

• Insure design rules and checklists are known and applied by the development teams

• Build Advanced Problem-Solving culture and promote dedicated quality principle and tools

• Promote and drive strong design reviews and DFMEA all along the Product lifecycle

• Ensure alignment with the global Built In quality Tools experts (Reliability, DFMEA, Firmware…) and the FW & SW Product organization (Porcesses, Tools)

2) Projects and Organization assessments

• Assess Product and Systems development practices

• Assess the validation process compliance and results

• Assess Project deliverables content, gates passing, quality level versus expectations for R&D deliverables

• Drive risks assessment and recommendations based on audits results

• Run audits and coordinate corrective action plans

• Support external audit preparation and actions plans

• Contribute to cross audits between development centers

3) Interface with the Quality organization

• Ensure the quality network is properly informed about the projects and the quality expectations

• Work closely with the other key Quality Directors, especially Services and Deliveries, Networks and Outcome

• Raise request for support to quality network when needed and when keys required activities are not respected

• Insure the Customer voice is well taken in account R&D activities

Skills:

• Product Life Cycle Knowledge

• Logical problem-solving expert, able to distinguish when external support is needed

• Good communicator and team spirit, able to value to the teams the quality role

• Knowledgeable in built in Quality Tools and statistics, DFMEA tools is a plus

• Understands software quality standards and has prior experience in defining quality for SW products.

• Has prior experience quality audits and code quality tools and practices.

• Has keen interest in Metrics and continues improvement process. building prediction models is a plus.

• Overall familiarity of software and firmware product tools used in product development (VSTS, Jira, Sonar Qube, whitesource, fortify,….)

• Knowledge of reliability, capability, robustness

• Good technical understanding, Software, Firmware, HW, Mechanics
