The Sr. Manager, Services & Delivery will oversee all strategy, planning and deployment of customer programs in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. This individual must have the ability to work autonomously and remotely to perform pre-sales activities, supervise multiple resources, manage customer relationships during and post-project and anticipate customer needs and issues to proactively manage their risks. Based on workload, this leader will be asked to take on internal projects to help improve how the APAC services team goes to market in the region related to channel partners, system integrators and other strategic partners or services offerings.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and implements staffing strategy to efficiently and profitably deliver and support all programs in the Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Island region.
  • Working in partnership with CME, develops and delivers innovative strategies targeting increased account revenue and margin growth.
  • Accountable to deliver in-region programs and customer engagements with a focus on quality and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Engagement with cross-functional teams across various disciplines including, but not limited to, Sales, R&D, Product Management, Global Managed Services, and Global Customer Support Services to guarantee customer satisfaction and meet the regional growth targets.
  • Ensures team is managing customer expectations and completing documentation of project goals, actions and as-completed materials, and all contracted reports as outlined in each project’s deliverables list and required by Itron and reporting status, risks and challenges. 
  • Complete P&L ownership of the region with a focus on high utilization, revenue and margin targets. Interfaces with Finance, Accounting and the Business to forecast revenue and cost.
  • A key member of the APAC Services & Delivery Leadership team; expected to actively contribute and participate in meetings, initiatives, decision making and represent the region, as needed.
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to mid-level Managers and project teams across the region with a focus on employee development.
  • Supports negotiation of complex contracts and change orders while working with Services Pricing and Proposals to develop standard contract offerings.

 

Experience: 

 

Required: This position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience implementing and managing direct large-scale, multi-phase projects/programs across all aspects of the cross-functional team. 

Preferred: A minimum of 10 years of deployment of telecommunications networks (preferably wireless) and/or enterprise scale software systems and/or expertise implementing Utility products and services (AMI, MDMS, DR, EE, etc.).

 

Skills:

  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be able to describe multiple business situations where these skills were leveraged.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and concurrent projects. Itron's networks are in great demand and the Leader must be able to oversee multiple projects in varying degrees of deployment.
  • Experience in personal computer operations and use of word processing, project management, spreadsheet programs plus experience with off-the-shelf and special-purpose test programs. Microsoft Project is Itron’s standard project management application.
  • Experience and knowledge of gas, water and electric utility, distribution automation, demand response or distributed energy management technologies is desirable.
  • Experience with GIS, CIS and other utility systems is highly desirable.
  • Must possess above average written and verbal communication skills.

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science. Advanced degree desired, MBA preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Certifications: PMP preferred

Travel: 10-50%;
