This is an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Revenue Accountant to work in a U.S. global public company with an exciting future. This position is an integral part of the Revenue and Cost of Sales Accounting Team within Itron, Inc. with primary responsibility for complex revenue recognition accounting in the area of multiple element arrangements including any combination of performance obligations such as hardware, software, professional services, SaaS, managed services, extended warranties, and maintenance.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages the development, implementation and/or maintenance of the revenue accounting system and processes in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. Ability to read and understand customer contracts to understand terms and conditions that impact revenue recognition. Support deal desk in review of customer contracts, amendments, SOW’s to ensure GAAP and Company revenue recognition policies are being appropriately applied and documented.
- Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency and works with internal and external stakeholders to establish good relationships.
- Manages SOX compliance of revenue recognition internal controls. Assesses technical accounting considerations for complex, multiple element revenue arrangements.
- Participates in annual audits and special projects, including adoption of accounting standards that have revenue recognition impact.
- Serves as a point of contact and SME for management and business partners.
- Monitor FASB, SEC and AICPA technical developments and interpret requirements as they pertain to revenue recognition for the company; develop and implement plan to meet requirements.
- Coordinates documentation and testing of SOX controls related to revenue
- Assist in preparation of financial analysis and reports related to revenue recognition
- Identify and articulate complex revenue accounting issues clearly and concisely and prepare revenue recognition positions for internal and external auditor review.

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience
Certification(s): CPA or CPA candidate preferred

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience. Liberty Lake, WA: The base salary is $75,000 - $148,000.
