Senior Technical Project Manager

Experience:  This position requires a minimum of 3 years of direct large scale, multi-phase project management, preferably for deployment of wireless telecommunications networks.  Selected candidate will be immediately responsible for field device deployment (estimated duration: 18 months) with ability to manage enterprise scale software system deployment (in addition to hardware deployments) in the future.

• Demonstrated leadership, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be able to describe multiple business situations where these skills were leveraged.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and concurrent projects. Itron's networks are in great demand and the PM must be able to coordinate multiple projects in varying degrees of deployment.
• Experience in personal computer operations and use of word processing, project management, spreadsheet programs plus experience with off-the-shelf and special-purpose test programs. Microsoft Project is Itron’s standard project management application.
• Experience and knowledge of gas, water and electric utility meter reading and related distribution automation technologies is desirable.
• Technical training and knowledge of radio frequency equipment used in planning and installing radio network equipment and multiple wired/wireless wide area networks is also desirable.
• Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle and experience managing third-party development teams is highly preferred.
• Experience with GIS, CIS and other utility systems is highly desirable.
• Must possess above average written and verbal communication skills.

Education: Bachelor's degree required.  Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline, preferred. Advanced degree desired, MBA preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Travel: If local to WA State; 25-50% travel is expected, if outside of this target location; 75%+ travel is expected.
