Solutions Engineer
Experience: This position requires up to 1 year of previous related professional experience
- minimum 5 years of experience in customer service operations; utility operations experience is preferred
- Experience with Electricity, Water, or Gas metering
- Experience installing software on VMWare-based Linux platforms
- Experience troubleshooting complex issues with hardware, software and networking
- ability to understand and develop test criteria, conditions, and plans; and execute the plan
- Technical understanding of networking and wireless technologies and concepts.
- ability to interact with individuals across multiple department
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical individuals
- ability to manage multiple projects and participate in a hands-on manner
- ability to work in a collaborative manner with an extended and diverse team of peers to ensure customer requirements are fully satisfied
- experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with using integrated customer support applications such as Remedy, Jira, Confluence
Education: Bachelor's degree or equitable degree plus work experience in Computer Science, Engineering or similar technical discipline.
Travel: 10 - 30%
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel small and medium sized components. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift weight or exert force up to 50 pounds. The employee in this position works in an environment where they may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, there is a risk of electrical shock, and there is vibration. The employee may be required to work with toxic or caustic chemicals, may be subject to higher noise levels, or work near moving mechanical parts.
