We are developing the next generation products of Itron portfolio, such as Temetra, Openway Riva, a massive scale IoT platform and a Street light vision management solution, whilst providing complex managed services oriented around business outcomes, respectively 2nd and 3rd level technical support across multiple Itron products to customers in every geographical area around the globe.  

Solutions Engineer

 

Position Summary

Analyzes, acquires, installs, modifies, and supports operating systems, databases, utilities, and Internet/intranet-related tools. Conducts systems programming and systems support activities, such as new or revised program language codes, processing routines and report generators. Monitors effective language codes, processing routines, hardware use and use of database management techniques. Modifies, maintains, and updates software. Prepares and conducts system and programming tests requiring interfacing of hardware and software.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for solution deployment including design, development, testing, debugging, documentation, and training of users or recipients.
  • Triage and isolate issues. Collaborate with system component owners, internal or external to ITRON, for issue resolution in compliance with service level agreements.
  • Has full technical knowledge of all phases of solution engineering and project management as well as development and design work.
  • Perform testing of solutions along with troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis of issues.
  • Perform solution life cycle management activities: evaluation and impact assessment of revisions to solution components. Assist in validation of solution configurations and release updates.
  • Provide status and resolution communication to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Respond to escalated customer issues or questions, providing solutions to customer cases and partnering with Customer Success and Support where needed.
  • Directs solutions to hardware, software and process related issues through analytical thinking and planning. Defines and implements workarounds, process improvements and corrective actions
  • May communicate directly with customers daily at all levels within customer organizations and within Itron.
  • Listens effectively to understand and address the overall impact of issues as they affect the customer (processes, resources, time)

Skills Required

  • BA/BS degree in engineering, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in solution support
  • Working knowledge of relational database. MS SQL Server preferred
  • Scripting with PowerShell
  • Webservice knowledge, SOAP and REST API understandings
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft excel
  • Understanding on cloud-based architecture
     

Skills Desired

  • Utility experience is preferred
  • Experience in any Meter Data Management product preferred, SQL database experience, hands-on experience on writing queries, scripting, webservice knowledge, REST API, soap
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Azure Dev (ADS) Working knowledge on Meter Data Management
