Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer
Itron DEM (Distributed Energy Management) is the industry’s leading provider of integrated cloud-based demand response, energy efficiency, and customer engagement solutions that enable electric utilities to ensure grid reliability, lower energy costs, meet regulatory demands, and enhance the customer experience. Through its software, hardware, and services, Itron DEM helps utilities optimize every aspect of a demand management program, from participant recruitment and device installation to call center support, control events, and measurement and verification.
Itron is seeking a Sr. SQA Engineer based in Budapest, Hungary to help test DEM software. You will be working closely with local and international product and engineering teams. Testing work will include both building out testing automation and manual testing. DEM software integrates with a large variety of devices. Ensuring that the DEM software connects and operates devices in our labs is key to this job. You will be helping to set up testing environments and assisting with lab setup and lab maintenance. Strong analytical and communication skills are desired.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute software test plans, test designs, test objectives, and test cases
- Identify, analyze, and document defects
- Problem investigation and resolution
- Report test results and analysis
- Ensure lab equipment is in proper operating condition for testing
- Evaluate and recommend improvements for testing processes and tools
- Develop automated tests with a focus on the regression testing process
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in a similar role
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Comfort and experience working in Linux and Git
- A solid understanding of manual and automated testing practices
- Experience creating test plans and executing test cases for large/complex applications
- Management of regression testing needs for a large system
- Execution and validation of deployment runbooks/scripts
- Restful web services and API testing
- Ability to learn quickly and balance multiple testing activities across product lines
- Experience in Agile methodologies
- Written and verbal English fluency
Skills Desired
· Testing with Containerization (Docker)
· Microservices Architecture
· Mobile device testing
· Cloud experience in Azure and/or AWS
